Dreading the end of our far-too-short parental leave? You're not alone! Let us help ease the worry about continuing your lactation journey when you head back to work or begin a new job. We'll go over pumping technique, flange fit, how frequently to pump, your rights as a lactating employee, dealing with pump parts, strategies to make pumping easier, partner support with pumping, how much baby needs while you're gone, how to managing supply, how to coordinate with daycare providers, and so much more. We're here to support you during this big transition! As with all consultations, this visit comes with free text follow-up. We recommend partners attend this consultation if they're able to.

In Home: Introducing Pumping and Bottlefeeding ~4 weeks
Interested in your baby knowing how to take the breast/chest AND the bottle? Introducing a bottle around 4 weeks is key to avoid refusal & breast preference. In this visit we will talk about what types of bottles work best to support going back and forth between breast and bottle, oral function, and optimize feeding from a bottle. We'll talk about positions, paced feeding, how to introduce pumping to support your specific goals, using your pump, and a proper flange fitting.

WHO recommends starting solids at 6 months. Have questions about how to introduce solids on your lactation journey? This consultation is great for babies between 4 and 6 months to learn about signs of readiness, purees vs. baby-led weaning, allergens, and simple meal ideas. This visit is also great for families with 6+ month old babies who may be struggling (either the parent or the baby). For older babies, we will evaluate whether your baby may need additional support and will provide additional referrals to pediatric OT feeding specialists as needed.

In Home: 90 Minute Lactation Consultation
A full-length consultation in home to troubleshoot any issues you're having. This visit is most common for general breastfeeding issues such as latching concerns, supply issues (over or under), nipple pain, oral tie concerns, breastfeeding after a rough start, etc. Please note that more complicated issues may require more than one full length consultation to solve the issue (sometimes over a few weeks). Consultations come with a care plan, resources, and free text follow-up (for simple questions) over the course of your lactation journey.
